Navigation and Finding Standards

What standards access is included with my AMPP membership?

  • All AMPP members with an active membership in good standing now get access to the latest standards.*
  • *Note: Our latest standards include all standards recently published and updated by AMPP Standards Committees (SC). This does not include access to historical standards, and there are some exclusions due to contractual obligations and partnership agreements. See the list of exclusions here.

How can I quickly find the specific AMPP standard I’m looking for?

  • You can find standards by typing the standard number in the search box, search by keywords in the standard title, and filtering by Standards Committee (SC).

Where can I find a complete list of all AMPP standards on the website?

Accessing and Using Standards

What do the different statuses in the standards table mean?

  • Issued - First time publication
  • Reaffirmed - previous version with no technical changes
  • Editorial Revision - new formatting with no changes to the technical content (minor edits and/or new formatting)
  • Revised - Changes made to the previous version
  • Stabilized - No changes, no future review required

Why can’t I find a standard even though I’m filtering by the correct committee?

  • If you cannot find a standard, then the standard you are looking for is not available due to contractual reasons or it is a historical standard. Check the AMPP Store or feel free to reach out to Customer Support for help.

Do I have to be an AMPP member to view standards?

  • Yes, to view and access the list of the latest AMPP Standards, you must be an AMPP member.

Searching, Sorting and Filtering

How do I combine search terms and filters to find the exact standard I need?

  • You can select from a list of Standards Committees and subsequently narrow your results by using the search bar.

Is there a way to search for standards using keywords that are not part of the title?

  • No, but you can search via a Standards Committee.

Why do I not get a result when I filter by Committee Topic?

  • If nothing appears in your search, then there are no active standards with that committee topic.

How can I browse through multiple pages of standards efficiently?

  • There are multiple ways to browse through our standards. Our standards can be browsed by searching, filtering through Standards Committees (SC), and reducing/increasing the number of results per page.

Viewing and Purchasing

What’s the difference between the “View” button and “Buy” button for a standard?

  • “View” will allow you to view our Standard through our web viewer. “Buy” will provide you with a downloadable copy that you can print or save to your local machine.

Why do I need to login to view certain standards?

  • Standards are part of the new member benefit. If you are logged in as an active Corporate or Individual member, you can access our latest standards.

Why am I seeing a greyed out “View Standard” icon and a “Buy” button?

  • If your “View Standard” button is greyed out and not blue, then your membership is not currently active. You will need to renew your membership. Renew your membership through your AMPP customer profile or reach out to Customer Support.

As a corporate member, do I get free access to standards?

  • Yes, corporate members also have access to our historical standards through the AMPP Store. Corporate members will no longer utilize credits to redeem standards. Instead, pricing for historical standards will be reflected in their portal. Please reach out to the Membership team at corporate@ampp.org for more information. *Exclusions may apply

Offline Access and Bookmarking

How can I save or download a standard for offline access?

  • There are two ways to download a standard.
    1. You can save a copy to your browser and bookmark to view later.
      1. Click 3 little lines on the right side
      2. Click save standard
      3. Recommend the customer save this as a bookmark
  1. You can use our Print to PDF feature to save a PDF copy to your machine.
      1. Click on the standard you would like to access.
      2. Click Print

What’s the difference between saving a standard and downloading it?

  • Both saving a standard for browser access and the “Print to PDF” function will provide offline access to a standard. When using Offline Access, your browser will download the standard to your browser cache. We recommend you bookmark that webpage to view the standard later. You do not need an internet connection to access that bookmarked webpage once it is cached. You can save a copy of the standard when using the “Print to PDF” feature. *Exclusions may apply.

How do I access standards after I’ve saved them for offline use?

  • You can visit the same tab in your internet browser on your device to view your standard. It is recommended to bookmark the standard on your device. *Note: you will need to download the standard on the same device you intend to use it on.

Annotation, Comments and Other Features

How do I annotate a standard in the web viewer?

  • After accessing a standard, you will be able to use the annotate feature. This will allow you to highlight, comment, or make notes in the web viewer. This annotated version will be saved to your profile.

Are my annotations saved permanently, and will they affect the original document?

  • They are saved to the document in your profile and are not permanent – they can be removed.

Can I share my annotated version of a standard with colleagues?

  • All AMPP, NACE, and SSPC standards, including printed and downloaded documents, are internationally copyright-protected, and may only be accessed by a single user. Multiple users must obtain a network license agreement from AMPP.

For more information about the network license agreement, please contact copyright@ampp.org.

What tools are available for marking up and commenting on standards?

  • You can draw, highlight, annotate, and comment on standards you have saved or downloaded. All these changes will be saved in your profile for reference later.
